Known for her sleek sartorial style with a tough-luxe edge, Sharona Harris of F&H Jewellery shares her tips on dressing for the races.

Tell us about your brand and how you began?

F+H Jewellery is a tough-luxe Australian jewellery brand that focuses on creating original designs with a clean modern aesthetic. The brand was started because I couldn’t find jewellery to suit my style, I wanted some great quality statement jewellery that was strong, stylish and modern with a little bit of a tough appeal, so that where it all began!

What will you wear to the races this year?

Definitely a tuxedo, I am really into slim tailored suits at the moment, with a slight flared trouser.

What are your top 3 tips for dressing for the races?

Accessories are key for turning a simple outfit into something that is really original.

Don’t wear shoes that you haven’t worn before, you are going to be on your feet all day so make sure you can last the distance in a pair of shoes you can trust.

Try a creative head piece rather than a hat for a more modern look.

What will be in your handbag?

Dry shampoo… the races in Australia are hot! Dry shampoo is a must for saving limp hair.

Which F & H pieces are a must-have for the 2016 race season and why?

My ‘Johnny’ cross earrings are great, they will add some edge to any feminine dress to give your look a bit of ‘cool-factor’.

What is your favourite race day of the year?

I always attend Melbourne Cup, normally spent at a track-side event (preferably in a marquee with air conditioning) … I am still yet to bet on a winning horse. Maybe this year?
