The Easter Weekend is almost upon us and I think it’s safe to assume that we’re thinking just what you are; yes - four days off!! In light of, and in preparation for this mini vacation, we’ve made a list of our favourite cocktails for each Easter day, to suit every mood, and occasion. We hope you enjoy this inspo, as much as we have enjoyed discussing this topic in the office.
Not only good, but great! With the whole day off to relax and prepare for whatever the occasion may be - drinks with the girls, or your very best friends - we’re feeling the need to share THE best drinks to accompany you. According to some of the leading mixologists in the world, these two drinks are not only incredibly popular, but will astound the palette too. Whether you’re ordering out, or making them at home – these won’t be your Friday night mistake.
This classic cocktail is actually one of the oldest cocktails dating back to the 1900's. A drink for the minimalist, this cocktail is simple, easy to make, wildly refreshing, and contains only three ingredients, sugar, lime, and rum. – what’s not to like?
60ml white rum
.75ml fresh lime juice
.75ml simple syrup
This sophisticated cocktail of bitter complexities is a drink for those with a discerning palette. Again this is one of the classics dating back to around 1919, hailing from the beautiful city of Florence. Some savvy marketing has brought this drink back to being on-trend, with an entire charitable week dedicated to it annually.
30ml Dry gin
30ml Vermouth Rosso
garnish with a burnt orange twist

SATURDAY - WE'RE THINKING BRUNCH
Why do we love brunch? Somewhere between breakfast and lunch, which allows us to lie in, and still have time to prepare something amazing for friends to come over before midday - brunch is akin to therapy, or indeed the cure to the previous nights indulgence.
And what would brunch be without the perfect Bloody Mary?
¼ Tomato juice
¼ Chopped horseradish
½ tsp. Chinese hot mustard
1 ½ tsp. Worcestershire
½ freshly squeezed lime
½ freshly squeezed lemon
1 tsp. vodka
Dash of sea salt
Dash of celery seeds
60ml of Vodka
200ml Bloody Mary mix
Directions: Blend horseradish, Worcestershire, anchovies, sriracha, and mustard until smooth. Add lemon, lime and tomato juice. Add a tablespoon of vodka.
Marinate for between 24 – 72 hours in the fridge.
When ready to serve, add mix and vodka to serve.
Now you have the perfect brunch drink sorted, all that's left is to have the perfect dish to serve alongside. This Asparagus, poached egg and Taleggio baguette recipe from Gourmet Traveller is simply irresistible: just click through for the recipe. We all get a little egg crazy over Easter - so let's celebrate with the healthy kind. And, a major plus, asparagus is at the height of season in April - giving you the opportunity to eat healthily, and for many of us, support our local farmers too.
SUNDAY NIGHT EXPERIMENTS
By the time Sunday morning rolls around, and Easter Sunday is finally here, it’s easy to be exhausted - even having had two days off. From the early wake up, to watching the little ones complete their Easter hunt, to indulging in your morning chocolate, then hosting a family lunch, its actually a busy day off.
If you have children you'll know that you're often left with way too much sugar for the little one's to handle, so what do you do with all the eggs? Here's a few creative ideas that could make your Sunday night a little fun...
o.k we admit it's not the most classy of drinks, but if you feel like reliving those college days, then this could be the ticket!
Here's what you need...
30ml Irish Cream
30ml Hazelnut Liquor
Dark Crème de Cacao
Whipped Cream & leftover M&Ms

A simple to make, yet delectable drink - with only three ingredients.
60 ml Baileys
7ml Chocolate Liquor
THE FINAL HOLIDAY - MONDAY
While this Monday morning is by far, better then any other because you don’t have to be, or go anywhere, it’s easy to feel sluggish after a weekend outside of your usual routine.
Despite our love of fine food, cocktails, and dancing, we are indeed very much into health and well-being, so we thought it only relevant to drop in a little cleansing recipe, to balance those above.
Here's our favouirite Super Green Smoothie filled with plenty of goodness, protein, vitamins, and fibre - it's exactly what you need for gut health after the long weekend.
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 cup spinach leaves
1cup of strawberries
¾ cup of ice
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (optional)
½ matcha powder (optional)
However... there's also such a thing as the Monday Night Finale!
If you’re wanting to ensure that you've started the week as you mean to go on, yet your friends have other ideas, here's a great compromise - the Festive Kale Margarita! Full of antioxidant goodness that will make your insides smile, or at least thank you for some consideration.
1 Cup of Ginger
½ cup of kale juice
¾ avage nectar
Don’t forget to salt the rim of the glass like you would with any form of margarita.
